205 TH STREET CHANNEL STABILIZATION IMPROVEMENTS
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution approving
plans and specifications and setting a bid date for 205 th Street Channel Stabilization
Improvements, City Project 16-15.
Overview
The City and Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization are partnering to restore an
existing stream located north of 205 th Street, between Jupiter Way and Kensington Way. The
stream is a direct tributary to Lake Marion and is experiencing progressively eroding stream and
bank failures. The 205 th Channel Stabilization Improvements are designed to reconstruct and
stabilize the stream through controlled elevation changes and a low flow channel with vegetated
stream banks.
The estimated construction cost is $225,000.00. A copy of the plans and specifications are
available for review in the Engineering Division.
Primary Issues to Consider
• The City’s funding source is the Utility Fund - Environmental Resources. Additional
funding in the amount of $100,000 is anticipated from the Vermillion River Watershed
Joint Powers Organization.
• Construction is anticipated to begin in February, 2017 and be completed by August, 2017.

RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND SETTING A BID DATE FOR
205 TH STREET CHANNEL STABILIZATION IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS , Wenck Associates prepared plans and specifications for 205 th Street Channel
Stabilization Improvements (City Project 16-15).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota:
That the plans and specifications for City Project 16-15 are hereby approved by the City Council
of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota;
BE IT RESOLVED, that bids will be advertised as required and opened at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
January 10, 2017 at City Hall, 20195 Holyoke Avenue, Lakeville, Minnesota.
ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 19 th day of December, 2016.
