ACCEPTING DONATION for OFFICER SAFETY ITEMS
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept a $100.00 donation from
Lakeville Boy Scout Troop 111 for the purchase of officer safety items.
Overview
Lakeville Boy Scout Troop 111 offered to donate the Lakeville Police Department $100.00 for
the purpose of purchasing officer safety items; a tourniquet and combat gauze kit. These funds
will be deposited in the general donation fund and be used for the safety items purchase.
Primary Issues to Consider
The Police Department appreciates the support of our community and thanks Lakeville Boy
Scout Troop 111 for their support of the Department.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS, Lakeville Boy Scout Troop 111 issued a check in the amount of
$100.00 for a donation to the Lakeville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of
real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the
governing body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville that the donation valued at $100.00 from Lakeville Boy Scout Troop 111 is
hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks
Lakeville Boy Scout Troop 111 for their generous donation.
