HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.i Date: Item No. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM SHAKOPEE MDEWAKANTON SIOUX COMMUNITY Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Approve resolution to accept one (1) automatic external defibrillator (A.E.D.) donated to the Lakeville Fire Department (LFD) from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. Passage of this motion will provide 1 A.E.D. to be placed on fire department vehicles that respond to medicals. Overview Lakeville Fire received a letter notifying the department that we were approved by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and its government donation program for one (1) automatic external defibrillator submitted by firefighter, Adam Harklerode. Primary Issues to Consider • Acknowledgement of Donation. • Chief Meyer will draft a “Thank You” letter following Council’s approval of this resolution. Supporting Information Letter from Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Financial Impact: $ Budgeted: Y☐ N☐ Source: Related Documents: (CIP, ERP, etc.): Envision Lakeville Community Values: Good Value for Public Services Report Completed by: Michael Meyer, Fire Chief February 21, 2017 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO._________ RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM SHAKOPEE MDEWAKANTON SIOUX COMMUNITY WHEREAS, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community has offered to donate one (1) Automatic External Defibrillators (A.E.D.) to the City of Lakeville Fire Department WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation of one (1) A.E.D. from Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community DATED this 21st day of February, 2017 CITY OF LAKEVILLE ___________________________ Douglas P.
