ACCEPTING DONATION FOR MEDICAL SUPPLIES
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept a $866.50 donation from
Kingsley Shores Senior Living Community for the purchase of medical supplies.
Overview
Kingsley Shores Senior Living Community, Lakeville, offered to donate $866.50 to the Lakeville
Police Department for the purpose of purchasing medical bags for the squad cars. The bags
include an oxygen tank regulator, bag valve masks, nasal cannula, oral airway kits, and assorted
bandages. These funds will be deposited in the general donation fund and can be used for the
medical supply purchase.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Gifts and donations required approval of City Council.
• The Police Department appreciates the support of our community and thanks Kingsley
Shores Senior Living Community for their support of the Department.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS, Kingsley Shores Senior Living Community donated cash in the amount of $866.50
for a donation to the Lakeville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal
property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the
donation of $866.50 from Kingsley Shores Senior Living Community is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Kingsley Shores Senior
Living Community for their generous donation.
ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 18th day of September 2017
