HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 07 Date: Item No. PUBLIC HEARING ON-SALE AND SUNDAY LIQUOR LICENSE MI PUEBLO MEXICAN RESTAURANT, LLC Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to grant an on-sale and Sunday liquor license to Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant, LLC d.b.a. Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant. Overview Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant, LLC has applied for an on-sale and Sunday liquor license at a new restaurant at 16060 Cedar Avenue. The restaurant will be located in the Dakota Plaza retail building in the southeast corner of Cedar Avenue and 160th Street. The seating capacity of the restaurant is 78. There is no outdoor patio proposed. The Police Department conducted a background investigation on the applicants, Jorge Gomez and Simeon Cuellar, Jr., and found nothing of concern. Mr. Gomez will be present at Monday’s Council meeting to introduce himself and answer any questions the Council may have. Primary Issues to Consider • Do the applicants meet all requirements for the licenses requested? • The applicants meet all City and State requirements for an on-sale and Sunday liquor license. The above person(s) was listed on the Liquor On-Sale and Sunday Liquor On-Sale application and completed the required personal information application for a liquor license. The following automated databases were checked to conduct this background; DVS, MNCIS, in-house records, and criminal history files. Conclusion The background investigation is complete. Based on State Statute and Lakeville City Code, the applicants meet the qualifications for the requested Liquor Licenses listed above.
