APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND SET A BID DATE FOR
2018 MISCELLANEOUS ROADWAY REPAIRS AND OVERLAYS
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution approving
plans and specifications and setting a bid date for 2018 Miscellaneous Roadway Repairs and
Overlays, City Project 18-01.
Overview
City Project 18-01 consists of City-wide roadway, sidewalk and storm sewer repairs. The roadway
patching/overlays, curb and gutter and sidewalk replacement, and minor drain tile and storm
sewer maintenance is designed to maintain the overall condition and maximize the service life of
public assets at the best overall cost. The following Parks and Recreation projects are also included:
• Juno Trail (trail reclamation - 205th Street to Casperson Park)
• King Park (trail construction - interior connectivity)
• Dodd Trail Park (pedestrian underpass pavement improvements)
Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2018 with completion by Fall 2018. A copy of the
plans and specifications are available for review at City Hall.
Primary Issues to Consider
• The adopted 2018-2022 Capital Improvement Plan programs $1,050,00 for the proposed
roadway maintenance projects and $220,000 for the proposed trail improvement projects.
The total estimated construction cost for City Project 18-01 is $975,000. Anticipated
funding sources include, but are not limited to, the Pavement Management Fund and Trail
Improvement Fund.

RESOLUTION NO. 18-
RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND SETTING A BID DATE FOR
2018 MISCELLANEOUS ROADWAY REPAIRS AND OVERLAYS
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville Public Works Department prepared plans and
specifications for 2018 Miscellaneous Roadway Repairs and Overlays (City Project 18-01) in
accordance with the City’s Pavement Management Program and the City of Lakeville 2018 - 2022
Capital Improvement Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota:
That the plans and specifications for City Project 18-01 are hereby approved by the City Council
of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that bids will be advertised as required and opened at
10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at City Hall, 20195 Holyoke Avenue, Lakeville,
Minnesota.
ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 20th day of February 2018.
