HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.q Date: Item No. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CASH DONATION TO POLICE BUY FUND Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept a $250.00 donation to the Lakeville Police Department Buy Fund from Barry and Denise Tipka for the purpose of combating human trafficking. Overview Barry and Denise Tipka to donated to the Lakeville Police Department $250.00 for Department Buy Fund. These funds will be deposited in the Lakeville Police Department Buy Fund used by Street Crimes and Investigations to conduct investigations into human trafficking. Primary Issues to Consider The Police Department appreciates the support of our community and thanks the Tipka Family for their generous support. Supporting Information None Financial Impact: $ Budgeted: Y☐ N☒ Source: Related Documents: (CIP, ERP, etc.): Envision Lakeville Community Values: Safety Throughout the Community Report Completed by: John Kornmann, Deputy Chief March 5, 2018 250.00 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO. ____ ACCEPTING CASH DONATION TO THE LAKEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUY FUND WHEREAS, Barry and Denise Tipka donated cash in the amount of $250.00 for a donation to the Lakeville Police Department to combat human trafficking; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation valued at $250.00 from Barry and Denise Tipka is hereby accepted; and the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks the Tipka Family for their generous donation.
