RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING NO PARKING ZONES
ON 190TH STREET FROM HOLYOKE AVENUE TO ITS WEST TERMINUS
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution establishing
no parking zones along both sides of 190th Street from Holyoke Avenue to its west terminus.
Overview
190th Street is designated as a major collector public roadway located adjacent to the Chokecherry
Hill, Summerlyn, Century Ridge, Dodd Marsh Highlands and The Greenway Addition
subdivisions. City staff received feedback that on-street parking along 190th Street creates public
safety challenges.
Based on the roadway functional classification, traffic volumes, design standards, and adjacent
land uses, parking restrictions are proposed along both sides of 190th Street from Holyoke Avenue
to its west terminus.
Primary Issues to Consider
• What is the impact of the no parking restriction on residents? Only one property along the
corridor has direct driveway access to 190th Street. Private parking on the lot and public
parking on neighboring local roadways is adequate for all properties along the corridor.
Supporting Information
• A map of the area is attached.
