HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 07 Date: Item No. PUBLIC HEARING WINE AND ON-SALE 3.2% MALT LIQUOR LICENSE CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL OF COLORADO, LLC Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to grant a wine and on-sale 3.2% malt liquor license to Chipotle Mexican Grill of Colorado, LLC, 17599 Kenwood Trail. Overview Chipotle Mexican Grill of Colorado, LLC has applied for a wine and 3.2% malt liquor license at its new restaurant located at 17599 Kenwood Trail. Chipotle indicates its primary focus is food; alcoholic beverages are simply offered to complement the menu. It is not a bar. The application for an outdoor patio, which was submitted with the license application, has been withdrawn. Alcohol will be limited to the indoor premises. Chipotle anticipates an opening on or about September 4, 2018. The police department conducted a background investigation on the LLC Managers, Matthew Ells and John Hartung, and found no reason to deny the licenses requested. The Area Manager, Amanda Larsen, will be present at Monday night’s public hearing. Primary Issues to Consider • Does the applicant meet all requirements for the licenses requested? • The applicant meets all City and State requirements for a wine and on-sale 3.2% malt liquor license. The above person(s) were listed on the license application and completed the required personal information application. The following automated databases were checked to conduct this background; DVS, MNCIS, in -house records, and criminal history files. Conclusion The background investigation is complete. Based on State Statute and Lakeville ordinance, the applicant meets the qualifications for a wine and 3.2% malt liquor license at Chipotle Mexican Grill.
