ACCEPTING DONATION OF LPSF POLICE & FIRE BALL TICKETS
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution accepting a
donation of 108 tickets to the LPSF Police & Fire Ball from the Lakeville Public Safety
Foundation.
Overview
The Lakeville Public Safety Foundation, a charity supporting police and fire departments in
Lakeville, hosts an annual Ball for Lakeville Police and Fire Departments. LPSF invites and
sponsors all Police and Fire personnel to the Ball.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Gifts and donations required approval of City Council.
• The Police Department appreciates the support of our community and thanks the
Lakeville Public Safety Foundation for continued support.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS, Lakeville Public Safety Foundation, a charity supporting Police and Fire
Departments in Lakeville, hosted a Ball on September 07, 2018. All members of the Lakeville
Police and Fire Departments were invited guests of honor; 68 members of the Police Department
and 40 members of the Fire Department attended. Ticket cost of $100 per attendee resulted in a
$10,800.00 donation for attendees from the Police and Fire Departments; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal
property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the
donation valued at $10,800.00 from the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation is hereby accepted;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks the Lakeville Public
Safety Foundation for its generous donation.
