At this meeting, Staff and the consultant received feedback from the Athletic Associations that were present regarding their thoughts and ideas on the concepts that were presented. On September 5, the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Committee reviewed the concepts of the community playfield providing Staff feedback as well. From August 29 – September 14, residents were also invited to participate in a survey regarding two Avonlea Community Playfield concepts. A total of 1,015 individuals participated in the survey and those results were shared with you in an email sent out on October 5. As a result of the above-mentioned review process along with the citizen survey, the attached two preferred concepts and graphic amenity boards have been developed which Staff and our consultant will be presenting to you at our meeting on October 17. As you will note, the major difference between the two concepts is that Concept A has a dome facility and Concept B does not, but it does have one athletic deck that has artificial turf. Staff is looking forward to presenting these concepts to you at our meeting and gathering your feedback on the plans. At the meeting, Staff will also distribute the estimated costs of the concepts which are currently being worked on . If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
