ACCEPTANCE OF IMPROVEMENTS AND FINAL PAYMENT TO TRAUT COMPANIES
FOR WELLS 21 AND 22 CONTRACT A, CITY PROJECT 15-10
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept improvements and approve
final payment to Traut Companies for Wells 21 and 22 Contract A, City Project 15-10.
Overview
Traut Companies is requesting final acceptance of work and payment of Final Pay Application No.
12 in the amount of $36,144.46. for the construction of Wells 21 and 22, City Project 15-10.
Contract B for the project concerns the installation of utilities and landscaping.
Attached is a summary of costs and change orders associated with the project. The original
contract amount was $744,064.00. There were no change orders to this contract. The final contract
amount is $722,889.25. The reduction in cost can be attributed to reductions in the amount of
materials used
All necessary paperwork, including lien waivers, the IC-134’s and Consent of Surety to Final
Payment have been submitted. Staff recommends acceptance and approval of the final pay
application.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Was all work satisfactorily completed? All work was satisfactorily completed and the
contractor has met the administrative requirements for final payment.
Supporting Information
• A copy of the contract close-out letter of recommendation from SEH, Inc., the City’s
consultant, and the final pay application and cost summary are attached.

In review, the prime contractor, Traut Companies began work on this project July 17, 2017 and completed
final work and testing:
Well Nos. 21 & 22 – January 2, 2018
Monitoring Well Nos. 1 & 2 – May 3, 2018
Sealing of Well No. 7 – June 4, 2018
The final construction amount is $722,889.25, which compares favorably to the original contract amount
of $744,064.00. The Contractor’s two-year correction period for this project will commence at the date of
final payment approval, which is anticipated to be September 17, 2018.
