RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM CUSTOMERS OF
LAKEVILLE MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORES
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Motion to approve resolution accepting
donations valued at $12,203.75 on behalf of Lakeville Municipal Liquor customers to be used
towards exterior sidewalk lighting at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.
Overview
The Lakeville Municipal Liquor Stores hosted an Arts Center “Share the Light” Fundraiser the
entire month of October. During the month, customers could make a donation to the Arts
Center and receive a one-year club membership or could leave their change or round up their
purchases at the registers.
Some grants and donations may require the City to incur additional expenditures in order to
comply with grant agreements and restricted donations; therefore, staff is seeking authority to
amend the budget, as appropriate.
Primary Issues to Consider
Lakeville Liquors hosts up to three donation roundups annually in conjunction with the
Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association. Providing just another avenue in which municipal
liquor operations continue to provide back to the communities they serve.
