Kuennen, Assistant City Administrator Date: December 10, 2018 Subject: City of Lakeville 2019 Draft Legislative Priorities At their November 26th work session, the City Council reviewed the proposed legislative priorities; based on this discussion the attached draft has been updated to reflect the following revisions: • Reliving Congestion along I-35 Through Lakeville, that previously included several related I-35 issues, was broken into individual priorities with the Metro Orange Line Extension being moved to one of the top five priorities • Metro Mobility was moved to be included in the top five priorities • Wording referencing the impacts on underage drinking and drunk driving was added to Expansion of Wine and Strong Beer Sales in Grocery/C- Stores • The first sentence in Infrastructure fees was revised to replace the word “authorize” with the word “allow” • The paragraph for Intoxicating Liquor – On Sale License was revised and shortened to be more concise • The list of deleted items at the end of the document was removed • Table of contents was updated to reflect the revisions The next steps in finalizing the priorities is to hold a joint work session on December 10th with our local and state legislators, followed by adoption of the priorities at the December 17th City Council meeting.
