AUTHORIZE FUNDING AND AMEND 2019 BUDGETS Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to award contract to Granite Ledge Electrical Contractors Inc. for Dodd Boulevard and Glacier Way Intersection Improvements, City Project 18-08; authorize funding and amend 2019 budgets. Overview On November 5, 2018 the Lakeville City Council approved plans and specifications for City Project 18-08. On November 29, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., the City received seven bids for City Project 18-08 ranging from a low bid of $399,763.85 submitted by Granite Ledge Electrical Contractors to a high bid of $496,150. The engineer’s estimate of the construction cost was $395,196. Primary Issues to Consider • The traffic signal is anticipated to be operational by June 30, 2019. • The City’s Capital Improvement Plan programs an estimated total project cost of $450,000 (includes 2018 encumbrances). Anticipated funding sources are shown below. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota: Hereby awards the contract to the lowest responsible bidder that meets all the bid requirements, Granite Ledge Electrical Contractors, Inc., with a bid in the amount of $399,763.85. The construction is proposed to be completed as specified in the contract documents. ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 17th day of December 2018. Douglas P. Anderson, Mayor Charlene Friedges, City Clerk CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 18- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FUNDING FOR DODD BOULEVARD AND GLACIER WAY INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT 18-08 WHEREAS, the Dodd Boulevard and Glacier Way Intersection Improvements, City Project 18-08, is programmed in the adopted 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota: The estimated project cost is $450,000 and anticipated funding sources are listed below. City staff is hereby authorized to amend the 2019 budgets and make the appropriate transfers between funds with respect to the project funding sources up to 10% above the estimated costs. Funding transfers may include loans between funds to cover engineering and other costs incurred on the project in advance of receiving other funding.
