FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND FINAL PAYMENT TO
NORTHWEST ASPHALT FOR
2017 MISCELLANEOUS ROADWAY REPAIRS AND OVERLAYS
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve final acceptance of public
street and utility improvements and final payment to Northwest Asphalt, Inc. for 2017
Miscellaneous Roadway Repairs and Overlays, City Project 17-01.
Overview
Northwest Asphalt, Inc. requests final acceptance of public street and utility improvements and
final payment in the amount of $71,536.97 for City Project 17-01.
The original contract amount was $1,077,869.01. Four change orders, in the amounts of
$3,255.00, $9,045.75, $3,117.68 and $9,977.05 were previously processed for the project. The
final construction cost is $1,181,939.69. The change orders and increased costs are a result of
changed field conditions encountered during construction and necessary item overruns.
Primary Issues to Consider
• The public street and utility improvements were tested and inspected by the Public
Works Department. All work was completed consistent with the Contract and the
administrative requirements for final payment.
