Subject: Review Springsted, Inc. Park Survey Results
At the November 26, 2018 City Council Work Session, the Mayor and City Council reviewed the
Avonlea and East Community Park master plans along with discussing the possibility of moving
forward with a Park Bond Referendum. At the meeting, the Mayor and City Council directed Staff
to move forward with contracting with Springsted, Inc. to complete a Community Survey to
determine what residents are willing to pay annually towards park improvement projects with the
idea of holding a special Park Bond Referendum election on May 14, 2019.
Springsted, Inc. completed the interviews with 400 registered voters in the City between December
7th and December 11th. Attached in your packet of information is the PowerPoint presentation Don
Lifto of Springsted, Inc. will be presenting to the Mayor and City Council at the Work Session on
Monday, January 7th at 6:00 p.m. in the Lake Marion Conference Room. Also included are the details
of the Community Survey results.
Staff will also share the results of the survey and direction the City Council provided Staff regarding
the issue to Committee Members at our meeting on Wednesday.
