HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.mJanuary 12, 2010 Proposed Action RESOLUTION AMENDING THE EMPLOYEE LEAVE POLICY Item No %m Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve Resolution amending the employee leave policy. Passage of this motion will result in an additional 24 hours leave, or pro -rated share of same, given to all benefit earning non-union employees. Overview The Personnel Committee of the City Council has reviewed wage and benefit information for non-union employees and is recommending that benefit earning, non- union employees receive a one-time credit of leave hours for 2010. In February 2010, 24 hours of leave will be added to the leave accruals for eligible full- time employees. Eligible part-time employees will receive a pro -rated share. Primary Issues to Consider e How will this affect the City Budget? This is a non-cash benefit and as such there is no direct effect on the City budget. Supporting Information e Resolution Steven C. RESOLUTION AMENDING THE EMPLOYEE LEAVE POLICY NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that in February of 2010, all benefit -eligible non-union full-time employees will receive 24 hours of paid leave; benefit -eligible non-union part-time employees will receive a pro- rated share. These hours will be placed in either the employee's vacation or paid time off account. This amendment is effective for only the 2010 calendar year. DATED this 19th day of January 2010.
