Consider Resolution Concerning the
Lakeville Area Arts Center Board
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion:
'Adopt resolution concerning the Lakeville Area Arts Center Board"
Adoption of this motion will remove residency requirements for the Arts Center Board
alternate member.
Overview
Residency requirements for regular LAAC Board members were removed in 2007,
The clause requiring the alternate board member to be a Lakeville resident was not
removed at that time. Readopting the resolution with that sentence removed will
provide for uniform requirements for all board members,
Primary Issues to Consider
• Should LAAC Board members be required to be Lakeville residents?
Supporting Information
• Several past members of the Board have not been Lakeville residents.
• It would be beneficial to make residency guidelines consistent
