FOR SUBMITTAL TO THE LEGISLATIVE CITIZEN COMMISSION
ON MINNESOTA RESOURCES
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to authorize staff to prepare
grant application for submittal to the Legislative Citizen Commission on Minnesota
Resources.
Overview
City staff continues to seek out available funding sources eligible to acquire the Bury
property. To date, preliminary grant approvals include:
• Dakota County — $300,000
• Federal TE Grant — up to $350,000 acquisition funds and $650,000 trail
construction funds (Kenrick Ave.)
• Dakota County Regional Trail Construction — $100,000
• Lakeville Park Dedication Funds — $400,000
Grant submittal requires a City Council resolution authorizing staff to submit the
application. Submittal of an application in no way obligates the City to any expenditures.
