HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.oMarch 9, 2010 Item No. v Temporary On -Sale Liquor License for the Lakeville Rotary Club's Annual Taste of Lakeville Event Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the issuance of a Temporary On -Sale Liquor License to the Lakeville Rotary Club. Passage of this motion will result in the ability of the Lakeville Rotary to hold a one -day event that will allow the sale of On -Sale Liquor. Overview On February 8, 2010, the Lakeville Rotary Club submitted an application for a Temporary On -Sale Liquor License for May 13, 2010. The license is being requested to allow the Rotary Club to host their annual "Taste of Lakeville" event. The event will be held at the Lakeville Area Arts Center. The Lakeville Rotary is recognized by Rotary International and meets the requirements set forth by statute to obtain a Temporary On -Sale License. Alcohol will be served in two tented areas within the site. Two musical groups will provide entertainment for the event. Admission will be by ticket only with a single entry point. The area where food and alcohol will be served will be enclosed by a steel fence. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed into the event. The applicant has submitted all documentation necessary for the applications and has submitted proof of liability insurance covering the date of the event. The Police Department has no objection to the issuance of the temporary liquor license.
