HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.gI • May 24, 2010 Item No. Extension of the On -Sale Liquor License for Babes Sports Bar and Grill Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the extension of the On -Sale Liquor License for Babes Sports Bar and Grill. Passage of this motion will result in the ability of Babes Sports Bar and Grill to serve alcoholic beverages and have live entertainment in the fenced in parking lot of their establishment until midnight on July 9th and 10tH Overview Babes Sports Bar and Grill has requested an extension of their on -sale liquor license to cover the sale of alcohol in their fenced in parking lot, as well as live music entertainment, during their annual Pan-O-Prog events. These events have been held for several years without major issues. A copy of the site plan and an insurance certificate have been provided with the request. The site plan addresses security issues as well as entrance and exit issues. The establishment has sent a letter to the surrounding neighbors advising them of the event and what to expect. The police department reviewed the request and has no objection to the extension of the liquor license, provided Babes abides by the site plan and attached list of stipulations. Primary Issues to Consider What measures will be taken to assure that persons under the age of 21 will not have access to alcohol? (See attached list of Stipulations) What measures will be taken to assure that outdoor activities will cease at midnight? Double fencing will be erected around the site per the submitted site plan. 2. Portable toilets listed and placed per the submitted site plan. 3. All live music will be done by 23:59 on the 9th and 10tH 4. All alcohol service will cease at 23:59 on the 9th and 10tH 5. Babe's security will assist the police department in clearing the establishment after 23:59. 6. The closing time should be prominently displayed throughout, so there is no confusion at the end of the evening when patrons are asked to leave. 7. For the July 9th event, Babes will hire 9 off duty police officers to supplement their security staff as agreed upon with the police department. 8. For the July 10th event, Babe's will hire 8 off duty police officers to supplement their security as agreed upon with the police department. 9. The Police Chief, Fire Chief or his designee has the ability to direct the event manager to control the level of noise and/or terminate the event at any time.
