HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 09I Z4, I 111;;�� June 09, 2010 1 Item No. 2010 Liquor License Renewals Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve the renewal of all Liquor Licenses that successfully passed the background investigation. Passage of this motion will result in those businesses to continue the sale of liquor, wine, and/or 3.2 beer from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. Overview Each year all businesses that hold liquor licenses are required by state statute and city ordinance to renew their liquor license. An application process is completed and all license holder information is verified, documented and updated. Attached is the list of the license renewal applicants and a summary of any issues or changes that have taken place in the last year. The Lakeville Police Department has no objection to the renewal of the liquor license to those establishments that have met the requirements set forth in city ordinance. I approve the patio application subject to the following conditions: • The plans shall be revised to include a minimum 42 inch high fence surrounding the patio area. • Access to the patio shall be directly from the licensed premises with no direct access other than emergency exits. • Panic and fire exit hardware shall be installed on the emergency exit gates that are equipped with latches and shall comply with the building code. • Because the patio will be located less than 150 feet from residentially zoned property to the north, there shall be no liquor, food, or music on the patio after 10:00 p.m. • The patio shall extend out no more than seven feet from the south side of the building in order to meet the 30 foot setback from the south property line (210"' Street right-of-way line). • The patio shall be setback at least two feet from the edge of the parking lot to allow for a two foot vehicle overhang. • The patio shall comply with the sign, glare, noise amplification, and dancing and outdoor entertainment provisions of the City Code. Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar 18404 Kenrick Ave. — On -Sale Liquor License Summary: No changes on this renewal. All paperwork and insurance is in order. All real estate taxes are paid in full. Indoor entertainment is provided through recorded music. Renewal Recommended. Lakeville Grill Inc., d.b.a. Babes Sports Bar and Grill 20685 Holyoke Ave. — On -Sale Liquor License Summary: The position of General Manager has changed since the last license renewal period. A background investigation has been conducted on the new manager, Mark Streefland. Mr. Streefland was arrested for an incident at Babe's Bar and Grille involving a patron. Mr. Streefland tackled a patron that was trying to aid in removing an intoxicated female from the property. This case is still moving through the court system and no final disposition exists. All paperwork and insurance is in order. All real estate taxes are paid in full. Indoor and outdoor entertainment was indicated, using recorded music, DJ, and live bands. They indicate that they will continue to participate in the Pan-O-Prog celebration as in the past, with City Council approval, and this will be the only time of outdoor liquor service and entertainment. Also the only charitable gambling at the establishment is done under the Lakeville Lions permit. Renewal Recommended. Northern Gopher Enterprises, Inc., d.b.a Brackett's Crossing Country Club 17976 Judicial Road- On -Sale Liquor License Summary. No changes in ownership noted.
