RESOLUTION SETTING WATER AND SEWER USER RATES
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Lakeville, that the following is hereby approved and adopted, effective
with the first billing to be sent in January 1980 until changed by
City Council.
I. Sewer Rates
A. Residential
1. Shall be based on actual water consumption, or the
water consumed during the first quarter of the
year, whichever is less.
2. When an account is newly established the sewer
maximum charge shall be set at the average gallons
of sewer use for all similar residential users.
This average is to be established after the first
quarter of the year. Sewer charge for the remainder
of the year will be at this figure, or actual usage,
whichever is less.
3. Minimum bill is $10.00 for up to 10,000 gallons.
4. Shall be 85G per 1,000 gallons of usage above
the first 10,000 gallons.
B. Industrial, Institutional and Commercial
1. Shall be based on actual gallons of water consumed.
2. Minimum bill is $10.00 for the first 10,000 gallons
of each quarter.
3. Shall be 85C per 1,000 gallons of usage, above the
first 10,000 gallons consumed each quarter.
C. Multiple dwellings served by a single meter shall be
charged for the number of units each quarter at the time
the meter is read. The sewer charge for each quarter
shall be determined by dividing the total gallons of
water used by number of units.
1. Minimum bill shall be $8.00 per unit for the first
10,000 gallons used by each unit.
2. Consumption above the minimum shall be charged 855
per 1,000 gallons consumed.
D. When a separate water system is installed and is limited
to uses that cannot enter the sewer system, no charge
shall be made for sewer on the water metered for said
system.
II. Water Rates
A. Based on actual metered gallons consumed each quarter.
B. Minimum bill is $7.00 for the first 10,000 gallons
each quarter.
C. Shall be 57� per thousand gallons above 10,000 gallons
consumed each quarter.
III. Head of households over 65 years of age or living on social
security or pension income alone are entitled to a 30%
utility rate discount.
IV. A penalty of 5% of the unpaid balance will be charged every
30 days after the quarterly billing date.
V. Deposit - Residential
A deposit of $15.00 for water service and/or $15.00 for
sewer service shall be charged on the first quarterly bill.
This deposit is refundable after closing of the account.
The final closing bill shall be deducted from the deposit;
and the remaining balance of deposit, or the bill for the
remaining amount due, shall be sent to the customer at his
forwarding address.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota this lst day of October, 1979.
