A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A WAGE SCHEDULE BY POSITION AND
PROVIDING POLICY ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a compensation report for
various employee positions; and
WHREAS, the report was based on job content analysis by position,
and comparison of other public and private employment wage rates for this
area and similar positions; and
WHEREAS, the report recommends wage rates that are competitive
and within the ability of the City to pay; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of a wage schedule by position will pro-
vide for effective administration of a clear wage plan for employees.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The following wage schedule by position is established effec-
tive January 1, 1979.
I. Street, Utility and Park Maintenance Departments

I. All regular full time employees in the above departments
and positions as of December 31, 1978 shall be placed on
the wage schedule as follows:
(a) From 1978 Maintenance II to 1979 Maintenance III
From 1978 Maintenance I to 1979 Maintenance II
(b) The employee shall be placed at the step on the wage
schedule which his seniority with the City represents,
and which provides an increase above the wage rate in
effect on December 31, 1978.
I1. All employees hired in the Street, Utility and Park Depart-
ments for maintenance after January 1, 1979 shall be em-
ployed at the Maintenance I position.
III. Employees progress across the wage schedule when they have
completed the time required indicated by the schedule on
a satisfactory basis.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville
this 18th day of December, 1978.
