HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-0860 CITX OF LAKEVILLE, ' IkESOLUTI(SN' Date November 20� 1978 Resolution No, 78-86 Motion by Curry r;� Seconded 'by, Zaun A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION PLAN AND PROVIDING POLIS ON =,ADMINISTRATION OF THE'PLAN F6R THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE WHEREAS, the City Council has received a compensation plan for var- ious employee positions; and WHEREAS, the'plan provides for equitable pay range's by position based on job content evaluation, wage comparisons with similar private and public employees, and the City's ability and competitive positions in attract- ing and retaining employees; and WHEREAS, City Council policy guidelines are necessary for fair and effective administration of the compensation plan. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: I. The following positions and pay ranges are established effec- tive January 1, 1979. 1. The maximum percentage increase for -any position shall be set by the City Council. 2. The salary of an employe6"whose current salary of wage exceeds the inaximum of the salary range shall be frozen until such time as•'the City Council raises the range to provide for additional salary opportunity. I 3. The salary of an employee whose current salary is below the minimum of the position range will be brought to at least the minimum upon implementation of the increases. 4. The City Administrator shall be responsible for the effective, fair and impartial evaluation of all employees in the above positions, and shall direct and approve the performance evalua- tion for each employee under this plan. 5. The evaluation and pay of an employee shall be reviewed by the Personnel Committee of the City Council, and an employee may appeal the decision of the Administrator to the Committee. 6. New employees for positions not previously filled shall be recommended to the City Council for approval by the City Administrator, and all appointments to positions under the exempt classification shall receive the approval of the City Council.
