HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-081CITY OF LAKEVILLLE RESOLUTION Date November 6, 1978 Resolution No. 78-81 Motion by Curry Seconded" by RESOLUTION STATING THE CITY OF LAKEVILLV S POSITION REGARDING SANITARY SEWER SERVICE FOR THE CRYSTAL LAKE BASIN AREA OF LAKEVILI,E Zaun WHEREAS, the Cities of Lakeville and Burnsville have had a written agreement that provides Lakevilleu-to sewer 1,100 acres in the Crystal Lake Basin area through Burnsville to the Senec4t trig* ent plant since July 17, 1972; and ' k H WHEREAS, the Cities have supplied copies of this Agreement to the Metropolitan Council gad Metropolitan Waste Conirol Commission in past years; and '~ WHEREAS, the land use planning in each City indicates that there is ample capacity in the trunk sewer system now in place in Burnsville to accom- modate the future needs of the Lakeville area; and WHEREAS, the Lakeville City Council authorized and directed the en- gineering firm of Consulting Engineers Diversified, Inc. to update the Compre- hensive Sewer Plan of Lakeville; and WHEREAS, C.E.D. has studied the alternatives for sanitary sewer ser- vice in the Crystal Lake Basin and has submitted a report dated November 3, 1978; and WHEREAS, the report of C.E.D. clearly indicates the greater effi- ciency of providing sanitary sewer service under alternate plan A for the Crystal Lake District through Burnsville; and WHEREAS, the Draft 208 Areawide Plan/Development Guide on Water Quality Management and the Analysis of Alternatives for Wastewater Manage- ment report (September, 1978) fail to provide for sanitary sewer service to the Crystal Lake Basin in Lakeville through Burnsville to the Sepeca Treatment Plant. rA NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: 1. The Lakeville City Council strongly supports the Agreement with the City of Burnsville to provide sanitary sewer service to the Crystal Lake Basin of Lakeville. 2. That the City of Lakeville's Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Comprehensive Sewer Plan, presently nearing completion, will be based on the Crystal Lake Basin being provided sanitary sewer service through Burnsville to the Seneca treatment plant. 3. That the City of Lakeville requests the final 208 Areawide Plan/ Development Guide on Water Quality Management be corrected to provide sanitary sewer service for the Crystal Lake Basin through the City of Burnsville to the Seneca treatment plant. 4. That a copy of the report of Consulting Engineers Diversified dated November 3, 1978 be sent to the Metropolitan Council and Metropolitan Waste Control Commission with this resolution. 5. That a copy of the report of C.E.D. and the resolution be sent to the City of Burnsville. APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota this 6th day of November, 1978.
