A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE:C;TY•POLICY IN REGARD TO
SICK LEAVE, MERAL LEAVE, AND ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE FOR
CITY• EMPLOYEES "
NOW THEREFORE IE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lake-
ville, Minnesota that the following are, ;he policies of the City as set forth
below.
GROUP A. FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME PERMANENT EMPLOYEES
Definitions:
1. Full-time employees are persons hired for a 40 hour per week
position on a yearly basis.
2. Part-time permanent employees are persons hired for a position
whose employment averages 16.or more hours per week and,are
employed on a yearly basis.
Sick Leave: Sick leave shall be earned by full-time and part-time
permanent employees at the rate of one eight hour day per month for
full-time employees, and for part-time permanent employees at the
percentage their weekly average hours represents of 40 hours.
Sick Leave Accrued: Sick leave may be used for personal illness
of the employee, subject to the following conditions.
A. Report the cause of absence to the Department Supervisor
or City Administrator within one-half hour or saaner at
the beginning of the shift the employee is absent.
B. Keep the Supervisor or City Administrator informed of the
employee's condition.
C. Submit a medical certificate from a Doctor for any ill-
ness when requested by the Supervisor or City Administra-
tor, and for any absence of three or more days caused by
illness.
Funeral Leave: In the event of a death in the immediate family
the employee may use up to'bhree days (24 hours) of sick leave.
A. Immediate family shall mean Mother, Father, Mother-in-
law, Father-in-law, husband, wife, son, daughter,
brother or sister of the employee.
Administrative Personal Leave: An employee may receive administra-
tive personal leave of up to two days (16 hours) per year when
approved by the Department Supervisor or City Administrator for
important personal business such as death of a close relative or
personal friend, legal requirements involving the employee's
household or similar matters or circumstances, said leave to be
deducted from the employee's sick leave.

Penalty: Claiming sick leave, funeral leave or administrative
personal leave, except as permitted above, may be cause for
disciplinary action, including suspension, demotion, or dis-
missal.
GROUP B. SEASONAL EMPLOYEES
Definitions:
1. Seasonal employee is an employee hired to fill a position
that involves work not required on a year round basis re-
gardless of the hours worked each week.
Seasonal employees are not eligible for sick leave, funeral
leave or administrative personal leave from the City.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council on
March 7, 1977.
