RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION FROM THE LAKEVILLE CITY COUNCIL
TO THE LAKEVILLE POLICE RESERVE UNIT FOR ASSISTANCE TO THE
CITIZENS OF LAKEVILLE

WHEREAS, the Lakeville Police Reserve unit provides valuable assist-
ance to the Lakeville Police Department, and
WHEREAS, each member volunteers their service after receiving 84 hours
of initial training, and
WHEREAS, members hold regular monthly training meetings and partici-
pate in outside training courses when possible, and
WHEREAS, the Police Reserve have spent numerous hours during each
Pan-O-Prog in such areas as traffic control and crowd control, and
WHEREAS, the Police Reserve assists in checking vacated homes during
major holidays and peak vacation periods, and
WHEREAS, the Police Reserve provide crowd control and security at
many high school activities including football games, basketball games,
dances and graduation, and
WHEREAS, the Police Reserve provides many hours for a second man
riding in the marked squad cars on weekends, and
WHEREAS, the Police Reserve have responded to duty without being
called when there has been severe weather, and
WHEREAS, the Police Reserve played an important part in implementing
the Operation I.D. program, and
WHEREAS, the Police Reserve provides these services without receiv-
ing any personal remuneration from the City,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Lakeville, Minnesota commends all of the members of the Lakeville Police
Reserve unit for their dedicated and valuable service to the Lakeville
Police Department and citizens of Lakeville, and
WISHES TO EXPRESS on behalf of the citizens of Lakville a sincere
"thank you" to each member of the Police Reserve unit.
