HomeMy WebLinkAbout77-12CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Date: February 22, 1977 Motion by Mako Resolution No. - 77-12 Seconded by Curry A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE OW WHEREAS, in 1978 the City of Lakeville will have been an incorporated body of the State of Minnesota for one hundred years, and WHEREAS, this occasion merits and will no doubt receive recognition and celebration by community organizations, neighborhood groups and citizens, and WHEREAS, the City should officially sponsor activities commemorating this occasion, and WHEREAS, official planning and coordination of the use of public facilities would be advisable to avoid any possible conflicts arising from diverse and varied planning by separate groups. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lakeville hereby establishes the Lakeville Centennial Committee which shall have its first meeting, organizational in nature, on Monday, March 13, 1977. The general functions of the Lakeville Centennial Committee shall be to sponsor official City functions and serve as coordinator of City facili- ties being used during the year of 1978 to celebrate the Lakeville Centennial, and That the membership of that Committee be determined by the existing committee appointing process and by an invitation process similar to that used by the Lakeville Bi -Centennial Committee, and That members of the Bi -Centennial Committee be enlisted by the Mayor to organize the March 13, 1977 meeting.
