HomeMy WebLinkAbout76-17Date: 5 April, 1976 Motion by Clarkson CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Resolution No. 76-17 Seconded by Mako RESOLUTION STATING THE CITY COUNCIL'S POLICY GUIDELINES FOR FILLING APPOINTMENTS TO ADVISORY COMMITTEES WHEREAS, City Council deems it appropriate in the interest of promot- ing citizen participation in municipal government and, WHEREAS, The City Council determines that in order to help promote citizen participation that a written policy be established as a guide in making said appointments to various advisory commissions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following procedure is here- by established: 1. Advertise all committee vacancies for two weeks in City and County media. 2. Applicant file a letter of interest and a complete resume' with the City Clerk, similar to a job application, including past and present employment information, volunteer activities, organizational memberships, other committee experience, educa- tion and place of residence. 3. Administrator receives applicant forms, explains the committee charge and time committment. 4. Council receives applications from Administrator, reviews appli- cation forms and conducts interviews at a public meeting in con- sideration of but not limited to: a. Fair geographic distribution. b. Variety of experience, knowledge and points of view and educational background. c. Any other factors that are determined to be in the best interest of the City. 5. Each candidate be notified of the City Council's selection in writing by the City Administrator. ADOPTED this 5th day of April, 1976. (CA 1i - -G(J�� Edward J.
