Development Update

• The City of Lakeville launched a new interactive Development Map on its website in May
(lakevillemn.gov/developmentmap). This map allows residents to view recently completed,
approved commercial/industrial, proposed commercial/industrial, residential and institutional
development projects and provides links to Planning Commission or City Council reports. Be
sure to click on all the tabs to see what’s happening in the City!
• Schneiderman’s Distribution Center has completed its exterior work and now matches the color
scheme of its furniture store on I-35.
• Several ribbon cuttings were held in June including Wings Financial Credit Union, Waffle Bar,
Mi5 Fitness (new location), and B-52 Burgers and Brew. Upcoming celebrations include a
ground breaking for QA1 on June 26 and a ribbon-cutting for Compeer Financial on July 9.
• Construction continues on Hampton Inn & Suites (near I-35 and CSAH 70, south of Allina Clinic),
Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh Convenience Store (corner of Cedar Avenue and Glacier Way) and the new
ALDI building (south of Emagine Lakeville Theatre).
• A building permit has been issued for the new 28,000-square-foot Park Nicollet Clinic building,
located at 18484 Kachina Court, off of 185th Street. Progress is also being made on multi-family
developments including Spero Senior Housing (55 market-rate senior independent units,
located near Lakeville North High School at the intersection of Dodd Blvd and Indiana Ave) and
BeeHive Senior Homes (20 assisted-living and memory care units, near U.S. Bank on CSAH 50).
Additional Highlights
• During the June 3 meeting, the City Council approved amendments relating to exterior
building materials, specifically “thin brick” wall panels in buildings in commercial and office
park districts. During the June 17 meeting the Council approved the final plat for Spirit of
Brandtjen Farm 21st Addition that contains 43 attached townhome lots and 52 detached
townhome lots.
