HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.e Date: Item No. ACCEPT BID AND AWARD CONTRACT FOR LIFT STATION 10 IMPROVEMENTS, ACCPEPT QUOTE FOR PUMPS AND ELECTRICAL PANEL, AND APPROVE EASEMENT AGREEMENT WITH HOENCK AND ANDERSON Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept bid and award contract for Lift Station 10 improvements to Minger Construction Co. Inc., accept quote from Quality Flow for pumps and electrical panel and approve easement agreement with Hoenck and Anderson. Overview Lift Station 10 is located next to Kingsley Lake on Klamath Trail. The steel wet well is severely rusted and the mechanical equipment at the station are unreliable. The plan is to construct a new wet well next to the existing well. Included in the project scope are new pumps, floats and electrical panel. The new location of the wet well does require a small permanent drainage and utility easement from the adjacent land owner, who has agreed to the terms of the easement. Three contractors submitted bids for the project, the low bidder was Minger Construction Co. Inc. in the amount of $311,175.15. The City received a quote for pumps and an electrical panel for the project. The City has standardized lift station pumps with KSP Manufacture and electrical panels built by Quality Flow for consistency. The quote for the pump and panel is $81,370.00. Primary Issues to Consider • Is this work necessary? Yes. The lift station was constructed in 1976 and has reached it life expectancy. Supporting Information • Engineer’s Recommendation letter & bid tabulation • Quote from Quality Flow for procurement of pump and electrical panel • Easement Agreement with Hoenck and Anderson Financial Impact: $ Budgeted: Y☒ N☐ Source: Related Documents: (CIP, ERP, etc.): Envision Lakeville Community Values: Good Value for Public Services Report Completed by: Paul Oehme, Director of Public Works July 1, 2019 392,545.15 Sewer Fund 2019 CIP (Reserved for recording) GRANT OF PERMANENT EASEMENT FOR DRAINAGE AND UTILITY PURPOSES THIS EASEMENT AGREEMENT (“Agreement”) is made and entered as of the ____ day of ____________________, 2019, by and between the CITY OF LAKEVILLE, a Minnesota municipal corporation, the Grantee, and MATTHEW E.
