HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 08 July 15, 2019 Item No. ______ EASEMENT VACATION INTERSTATE SOUTH LOGISTICS PARK SECOND ADDITION PROPOSED ACTION Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to adopt the resolution vacating an easement on Lot 1, Block 1, Interstate South Logistics Park Second Addition. OVERVIEW The final plat of and development contract for Interstate South Logistics Park Second Addition was approved at the June 3, 2019 City Council Meeting. The property is located at the southwest corner of 217th Street and Dodd Boulevard (CSAH 9) and is the site of the QA1 Precision Products project. The original development contract included a reference to a public watermain to be extended through the site. Since June 3rd, it has been concluded by the City and Scannell that a public watermain is no longer needed for this project, and that the QA1 building can be served with the private watermain extensions that already exist on the site. A Development Contract Amendment that eliminates the requirement for the public watermain extension through this lot was approved by the City Council on July 1, 2019. PRIMARY ISSUES TO CONSIDER Does the revised plan for watermain extensions provide for water service to be available to the area of Interstate South Logistics Park south of the QA1 site? Depending on how the remainder of the property develops, Scannell may be required to construct a public watermain west of the QA1 site to serve the southern portion of Interstate South Logistics Park.
