HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.d Date: August 19, 2019 Item No. ACCEPT DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENT FROM HY-VEE, INC CEDAR AND DODD RETAIL ADDITION Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept drainage and utility easement from Hy-Vee, Inc. for construction of public watermain. Overview The Cedar and Dodd Retail Development Contract requires the construction of public watermain along the west side of Dodd Boulevard between Glasgow Avenue and Glacier Way. An existing Great River Energy transmission line (including poles) is located adjacent to and in conflict with the watermain improvements. City staff and the Developer reached a mutual resolution by revising the watermain location to Lots 2 and 3, Block 1 Cedar and Dodd Retail Addition. This Developer is granting additional easement area for the new public watermain at no cost to the City. Primary Issues to Consider • Does the additional easement area impact the development? Hy-Vee, Inc. determined that the additional easement area will not impact their future development plans for the lots.
