HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 06.d Date: September 16, 2019 Item No. RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM CUSTOMERS OF LAKEVILLE MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STORES Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Motion to approve resolution accepting donations valued at $23,225.42 on behalf of Lakeville Municipal Liquor customers to be used towards the construction of the King Park Mini Golf Project. Overview The Lakeville Municipal Liquor Stores hosted a King Park Mini Golf Fundraiser from July 1st through August 4th of 2019. Funds were raised through donation jars, rounding up at the registers and through the sale of discounted club memberships. Some grants and donations may require the City to incur additional expenditures in order to comply with grant agreements and restricted donations; therefore, staff is seeking authority to amend the budget, as appropriate. Primary Issues to Consider Lakeville Liquors hosts up to three donation roundups annually as part of our ongoing community outreach endeavors. Supporting Information • Resolution Financial Impact: $23,225.42 Budgeted: N Source Related Documents (CIP, ERP) Envision Lakeville Community Values: Exceptional Parks, Trails and Recreational Opportunities Report Completed by: Brenda Visnovec, Liquor Operations Director CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO.________ RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO THE KING PARK MINI GOLF PROJECT WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donation of real or personal property be accepted only with adoption of a resolution of the governing body; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville’s Municipal Liquors Stores have received donations of money in the amount of $23,225.42; and WHEREAS, the grants and donations were beneficial to the department; and WHEREAS, the additional revenues received may require the City to incur additional expenditures in order to comply with grant agreements and restricted donations. NOW, THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donations are hereby officially accepted and acknowledged with gratitude to the donors; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City staff is authorized to amend the budget to comply with grant agreements and restricted donations.
