[v000001] From: Elizabeth Wright <Elizabeth@themoments.com> Sent: Monday, September 9, 2019 1:14 PM To: Meyer, Michael <mmeyer@lakevillemn.gov> Subject: The Moments of Lakeville Dear Chief, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to reach out to you personally and thank you and your team for some excellent work at The Moments this past winter. On January 31, 2019 one of our fire sprinklers froze and burst in the building. This let loose a large amount of water from where the pipe burst through one of our offices into the lobby and made its way to the dining area. As soon as the alarm went off your Department was at the 2 building in less than five minutes. I was out of town but had the ability to monitor the situation remotely through our surveillance cameras. Your fire fighters were not only here quickly but their response went above and beyond what we could have imagined. As soon as they arrived they, with our staff, checked on the wellbeing of each of our 32 residents. After they ensured everyone was doing well they went to work. I mean literally they went to work squeegeeing and helping clean up the water from the community. They were there until my crew arrived to relieve them and complete the clean up. The team that showed up was fantastic in every way imaginable, they were professional, compassionate and extremely helpful. I am certain that without the work that they did we would have had considerable damage to the building itself. While I am certain that you would tell me they were just doing their jobs I want to personally thank you for what they did to help The Moments in our time of need. It was truly a pleasure to witness their teamwork. In April we went to the Council meeting for approval of our new building to be built on the adjacent land. At that meeting, which I was unable to attend, my proxy and husband announced we would be donating $5000 to the Lakeville Fire Department. I would be honored to meet you this afternoon or next Tuesday September 17 to present you with the first of two checks, $2500. I would also like to know to whom the check should be written.
