AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLB 3 OF THE.
LAREVILLE CITY GODS CONCERNING LICENSING
T~iE TRIMMING .AND REMOVAL OF TREES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE ORDAINS:
Section i. Title 3, of the Lakeville City Code is amended bar
adding Chapter 14 to read as follows:'
CHAPTER 14.
TREE .TRIMMING AND REMOVAL LICENSE
Sec. 3-14-1. License Required.
No person shall conduct as a business the cutting,.trimming,
:pruning, or removal of trees, shrubs, or vines in the City
without first having secured a license>from the City to conduct
such business.
sec. 3-14-2. Application for License, Fees.
(A) Application for such a license shall be made at `the
office of the City Clerk.
(B) The application fora license: shall be made on a form
approved by the City and shall show, among other things,. the name
and address of the applicant, the experience of the applicant,
the number of years in business, he number and names of the
employees of the applicant, the number.. of vehicles of applicant,
together with a description and license number of each and the
type of equipment proposed..to be used.
(C) The annual fee for such License shall'be in the amount
.established by resolution of the City .Council..
(D) All licenses issued under the provisions of this.
article shall expire on the thirty-first day of December
following he date of issue.
Sec. 3-14-3. Insurance.
(A) No license or renewal shall be granted, nor be effec-~
tve, until the applicant files with the City Clerk proof of a
liability insurance policy covering all-operations of such
applicant hereunder .for the sum of at least $500,000 combined
single limit coverage. The policy shall provide that it may not
be cancelled by the. insurer except after ten (10) days written

notice to the City, and if such insurance is so cancelled and
lcensee~fails to replace the same with another policy conforming
to the provisions of this section, the license shall be
automatically suspended until such insurance shall .have. been
replaced.
(B) No license or renewal shall be granted, nor be effec-
tive, until :the applicant files. with .the City Clerk acceptable
.evidence of compliance with the workers' compensation insurance
coverage requirements by providing the name of the insurance
company, the policynumber,: and date of coverage.
.Sec. 3-14-4. Chemical Treatment Requirements.
Applicants who .propose to use pesticides in any activity
related to treatment or disease control of trees, shrubs, or
vines shall ..file with the City Clerk .proof that. the applicant or
an employee of the applicant administering such treatment has
been certified by the State Department of Agriculture as a
commercial pesticide applicator.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective immediately.
upon. its.. passage and publication.

August , 1991.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LAKEVILLE ORDAINS:
Section 1, Title 3 of the Lakeville City
Code is amended by adding Chapter 14 to
read as follows:

(1) Lowest classified rate paid by commercial
users for comparable space: $5.94 per
column inch.
(2) Maximum rate allowed by law for the
above matter: $4.68 per column inch.
(3) Rate actually charged for the above
matter: $4.68 per column inch.
