ACCEPT DONATION TO THE LAKEVILLE POLICE DEPARMENT
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution accepting a
donation of $3,400 from Trinity Evangelical Free Church to the Lakeville Police Department.
Overview
Trinity Evangelical Free Church, a church operating in Lakeville, is donating a $3,400 to LPD.
The donation will be used to purchase specialized equipment for the police department that will
be used to protect and serve the citizens of Lakeville.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Gifts and donations require approval of the City Council.
• The Police Department appreciates the support of Trinity Evangelical Free Church and
thanks them for their support.

RESOLUTION NO._________
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, MN Statute 465.03 requires that cities accept grants and donations for the benefit of
its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville Police Department has received $3,400 from Trinity
Evangelical Free Church; and
WHEREAS, the donation is beneficial to the department; and
WHEREAS, the additional revenues received may require the City to incur additional
expenditures in order to comply with grant agreements and restricted donations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota, that the donation of $3,400.00 from Trinity Evangelical Free Church is hereby
accepted and acknowledged with gratitude; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City staff is authorized to amend the budget, if appropriate,
to comply with grant agreements and restricted donations.
