Resolution Granting Temporary Pay Increase for Part-time Liquor Positions
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve resolution granting
temporary pay increase for part-time liquor positions.
Overview
It is the City’s goal to attract and hire well qualified employees, including part-time employees
for the Liquor Department. During the state of emergency due to COVID-19, Lakeville Liquors is
classified essential and part-time staff are scheduled to work to continue operations.
Staff is recommending a temporary $2.00 pay increase for part-time liquor positions effective
March 23, 2020 through April 30, 2020. Employee would not receive the temporary wage
increase if they are on a COVID-19 leave status.
The Personnel Committee supports the proposed temporary pay increase for part-time lead
sales and part-time sales associate positions.
Primary Issues to Consider
• The Liquor Stores remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Temporarily
increasing wages for part-time staff will reduce turnover during this pandemic.

• Resolution granting temporary increase
• Resolution 17-137
