Resolution Granting Extension of Temporary Pay Increase for Part-time Liquor Positions
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve resolution granting
extension of temporary pay increase for part-time liquor positions.
Overview
During the state of emergency due to COVID-19, Lakeville Liquors is classified essential and
part-time staff are scheduled to work to continue operations. The City Council recently
approved a temporary pay increase for part-time liquor positions through April 30, 2020.
Staff is recommending extending the temporary $2.00 pay increase for part-time liquor positions
until the City Council declares an end to the local emergency due to COVID-19. Employee
would not receive the temporary wage increase if they are on a COVID-19 leave status.
Primary Issues to Consider
• The Liquor Stores remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Temporarily
increasing wages for part-time staff will continue to enhance recruitment and reduce
turnover during this pandemic.
