HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 07 Date: Item No. ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 1 OF THE LAKEVILLE CITY CODE CONCERNING LIQUOR LICENSE FEES Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to adopt an ordinance amending Title 3, Chapter 1, of the Lakeville City Code concerning liquor license fees. Overview Liquor licenses in Lakeville are renewed annually on July 1. Renewal applications, license fees and proof of liquor liability insurance must be submitted prior to City Council consideration of the 2020/21 licenses. As discussed at your April 27th work session, the City wants to help local businesses that are shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The proposed ordinance temporarily reduces the on- sale license fees by 20%. It also allows, for this renewal period only, collection of the on-sale renewal fees in two equal installments (May 30 and November 30). Primary Issues to Consider • What is the overall financial impact as a result of the fee reduction?
