Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve quote terms of Axon Enterprise, Inc. Overview Passage of this motion will result in an agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. until August 2025 for Taser devices. Axon agrees to provide 50 units. 50 units, some as old as 20 years, will be traded in. Sworn field personnel will be equipped with these devices. Primary Issues to Consider • 5-year lease-to-own program will save the city $6,000 over a five-year period. • Lease program provides all needed supplies for training over a five-year period. • Axon has agreed to re-train our instructors on the new device. • Funds were approved in the 2020 operating budget ($15,000). • For financial reporting, the expense must be recognized in full during 2020. This may require a budget amendment later depending if there are changes in budget forecasts for the remainder of 2020. Future budgets will reflect a reduction due to the expense being recognized in 2020. • Lease payments will occur over a 5-year period (2020-2024). Any change in this ship date and resulting contract start date will result in modification of this credit value which may result in additional fees due to or from Axon. Purchase of TASER 7 are governed by the TASER 7 Agreement located at https://www.axon.com/legal/sales-terms-and-conditions and not the Master Services and Purchasing Agreement referenced below.
