ACCEPTING DONATION TO THE LAKEVILLE POLICE DEPARMENT
Proposed Action Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to accept a donation of $12,500 from Lakeville Public Safety Foundation.
Overview Lakeville Public Safety Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes public safety by enhancing the capabilities of the Lakeville Police Department and Lakeville Fire Department, is donating $12,500 to LPD. The donation is for the purchase of ten each AED’s for the police department.
Primary Issues to Consider
• Gifts and donations require approval of the City Council.
• The Police Department appreciates the support of Lakeville Public Safety Foundation and thanks them for their support.

RESOLUTION NO._________
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION
WHEREAS, Lakeville Public Safety Foundation, a non-profit organization operated in Lakeville, donated $12,500 to the Lakeville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires all gifts and donation of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation of $12,500 from Lakeville Public Safety Foundation is hereby accepted; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks Lakeville Public Safety Foundation for its generous donation.
