CITY OF LAKEVILLE
DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7 OF THE LAREVILLE
CITY CODE CONCERNING PUBLIC WAY$ AND PROPERTY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE ORDAINS-AS
FOLLOWS:
Section i. Section 7-1-1 of the Lakeville City Code is
..amended by adding the following definition:
~~Ultralght Vehicles~~ means a vehicle that:
(a} is used or intended to be used for manned operation
in the air by one or two occupants;
(b) is used or intended to be used for recreation or
sport purposes only;
(c) does not have any U.S. or foreign airworthiness
certificate;
(d} if unpowered, weighs less than 155 pounds; and
(e} if powered:
(1) weighs less than 254 pounds empty. weight,
,excluding floats and safety. devices. which are. intended
for deployment in`a potentially catastrophic situation;
(2) has a fuel capacity not exceeding five (5)
U.S. gallons;
(3) is not capable ofmore than 55 knots
calibrated airspeed at full power in level flight; and
(4) has a power-off stall speed which. doesnot
exceed 24 knots calibrated airspeed.
Section 2. Title 7, Section 7-1-4-1 of the Lakeville City
Code is amended to read:
7-1-4-1. Discharge of Firearms. It shall be unlawful for any
person to use, fire., or discharge a firearm within any
City park, including but not limited to, paint pistols
and firearms that use a C02 propellant.
Section 3. Title 7 of the. Lakeville City Code is amended by
adding Section 7-1-4-8 to read:.

7-1-4-8. IIltralight Vehicles. It shall be unlawful for anyone
to .have-an ultralight vehicle in a City park.
Section 4. Title 7 of the Lakeville City Code is amended by
adding Section 7-1-6 to read:
7-1-6. Regulation of City Owned Public Lake Access Sites. On a
public lake access site:
A. No .person shall leave, store, abandon or
otherwise cause to remain any fish house, shelter or
dark house.
B. No persons shall leave, store., or moor on or
directly in front of any lake access site any boat,
pontoon, or watercraft, after such person has left the
lake area, or cause such watercraft to remain on the
lake access site overnight..
C. Except during loading and unloading, parking is
prohibited except in designated parking spaces.
D. No person shall remove, destroy or damage any
tree, shrub, vine or plant.
E. Building fires in other than designated.
fireplaces or throwing lighted cigarettes.,. cigars or
other burning materials on the ground is prohibited..
F. Carrying or transporting loaded firearms or
using any firearm, bow and arrow, air rifle, slingshot,
or other missile propelling weapon is prohibited.
G. No person shall destroy or deface signs, posts.,
fences, tables, benches, or other City property..
H. Littering is prohibited.
Section S. This ordinance shall-be effective immediately
upon its passage and publication..
ADOPTED-by the Lakeville City Council this 21st day of May,
1990.
