HomeMy WebLinkAbout0417 ORDINANCE NO. 417 ' CITY OF LAKEVILLE .DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7, CHAPTER 5 OF THE LAREVILLE CITY CODE CONCERNING WATER AND SANITARY SEWER SYSTEMS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE ORDAINS: section. 1. Section 7-5-4-2 of the Lakeville City Code is amended to read: 7-5-4-2z Water Meter Charge. Meters shall be installed by the owner at his expense and shall remain City property® Each customer shall pay-a.non-refundable charge for the cost of the. water meter in an amount fixed by resolution of the City Council. section 2. Section 7-5-4-3 of the Lakeville City Code is deleted in its entirety. Section 3. Section 7°5-6-3 of the Lakeville City Code is amended to read• 7-5-6-3: Bill for Service: Water. and sewer service charges shall be billed together. Bills shall specify the water. consumed and the sewer and. water charges in accordance with the rates established by City Council resolution.. Section 4. Section 7-5-6-4 of the: Lakeville City Code is amended to read: 7-5-6-4: Delinquent Accounts. All charges for water and sewer service shall. be due and payable: twenty-one {21) days .after billing by the City and shall be delinquent thereafter. Interest, .penalties, and an administrative charge on delinquent accounts shall be established by City Council resolution. The City shall endeavor to collect delinquent accounts promptly. When satisfactory arrangements for payment have. not. been made, the City may, after the procedural requirements: of this Section have been complied with, discontinue service to the delinquent customer by shutting off the water at the stop box. When water service to any. premises has..been discontinued, service shall not be r05/30/90 restored. except upon the payment of all delinquent bills and a fee for the cost of disconnection as established by City Council resolution.. Delinquent.. .accounts may be submitted for collection of`the delinquent amounts against the respective properties served. The roll shall be delivered to the City Council fore certification to the County Auditor for collection along with taxes. Such action is discretionary and may be in lieu of or in addition to any other action to collect. delinquent accounts. Section 5.
