Overview The stormwater management basin at the Kenwood Trail and Jaguar Avenue intersection was designed and constructed with the County Road 50 Reconstruction project to capture sediment/pollutants and improve the water quality of Lake Marion. Due to unanticipated existing field conditions, additional enhancements are required for the basin to optimally function. Improvements include extra draintile installation, sediment removal and vegetation enhancement. The City received three quotes for City Project 20-41 ranging from a low quote of $22,000 submitted by Minnesota Dirt Works to a high quote of $28,305. The engineer’s estimated construction cost was $32,850. The attached Agreement provides the scope of work, cost and schedule for completing the project. Primary Issues to Consider • Dakota County and the Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization are partnering with the City to complete these improvements; therefore, the project includes multiple funding sources. The total estimated project cost is $32,000 (includes Minnesota Dirt Works construction contract and engineering costs); the City’s estimated net cost is $10,000. The City is the lead agency and will administer the project contract.
