RESOLUTION NO. 20-124
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE AND DISPOSAL
OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT AND AMENDING THE EQUIPMENT FUND BUDGET
WHEREAS, State Statute 471.345 sets forth the law regulating the sale or purchase of supplies,
materials, equipment or the rental thereof, or the construction, alteration, repair or maintenance
of real or personal property in Minnesota cities and the City of Lakeville; and
WHEREAS, The City Council approved the 2021-2025 Capital Improvement Plan (which
included the 2021 Equipment Plan) on October 5, 2020 and the 2020 Budgets on December 2,
2019; and
WHEREAS, Staff has requested moving up the purchase of snow equipment (two John Deere
1575 units with attachments) so it can be utilized during the 2020/2021 winter; and
WHEREAS, the delivery of a pickup truck that was authorized and the purchase initiated in 2019
did not occur until 2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. Staff is authorized to purchase snow removal equipment at an estimated cost of $82,000.
3. Staff is authorized to amend the Equipment Fund budget in the year the equipment is
received in the amount of $82,000 for the snow equipment and $54,000 for the pickup truck
using fund balance reserves as the funding source.
ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 2nd day of November 2020.
