CITY OF LAKEVILLE
DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN INTERIM ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY PROHIBITING
ISSIIANCE OF LAND IISE APPROVALS FOR
WASTE DISPOSAL FACILITIES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE ORDAINS:
Section i. Definitions. The following terms whenever used
in this ordinance shall be interpreted to mean:
Waste Disposal. Facilities. Refuse and garbage disposals,
sanitary landfills, solid waste disposal sites, medical
waste incinerators, refuse and garbage incinerators,.
refuse-derived fuel processing facilities, hazardous waste
storage facilities, solid waste transfer facilities,
hazardous waste transfer facilities, similar uses.
Land IIse Approvals. Conditional use permits, variances',_
planned unit developments, rezoning, zoning ordinance
amendments, site plan approval,. building permits,
subdivisions, similar permits and approvals.
Section 2. Intent. It is the intent of this ordinance to
allow. the City of Lakeville time to complete an in-depth study
concerning appropriate land use controls for the. regulation of
waste disposal facilities, and in the interim. to protect the
planning process and the safety and welfare of the citizens of
the community.
Section 3. Temporary Prohibition. Pending the completion
of the above referred to study and adoption of appropriate
official controls, no land use. approvals shall be processed or
issued for waste disposal facilities and no applications for such
uses will be accepted.

Section 4. .Effective Date:. This ordinance shall take
effect .from and after its gassage and publication and :shall
remain in effect until the date of the adoption of the official
controls contemplated hereunder or July i, 1991, whichever occurs
first .
