Overview The Interstate South Logistics Park Third Addition development includes construction of the south leg of the Jacquard Avenue/County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 70 intersection. Construction/extension of Jacquard Avenue requires modifications to the existing CSAH 70 intersection including an eastbound right turn lane, traffic signal modifications and associated roadway, drainage and utility improvements. The City and County partnered to construct improvements along CSAH 70 from Kenrick Avenue to Cedar Avenue to alleviate congestion, make safety improvements and provide for increasing traffic levels; construction is underway. Revised design of the CSAH 70 plans is required to incorporate the Interstate South Logistics Park Third Addition intersection improvements. Bolton & Menk’s proposal identifies the scope of services and estimated cost to complete the design. The City is the lead agency and will administer Bolton & Menk’s contract; therefore, the total estimated design cost of $35,185 is reflected in this memo. The Developer will reimburse the City 100% of the design cost consistent with the terms of the existing Development Contract; the City’s estimated net cost is $0. Primary Issues to Consider • Proposal is subject to the Master Agreement for Professional Engineering Services between the City and Bolton & Menk approved by the City Council on July 18, 2016.
